It's been a very cold February for us; much colder than we're used to here at the Corner. We find ourselves on the last day of the month with the sun shining brightly and the birds chirping in spite of the still cold temps. The forecast for tomorrow looks a bit nasty, so I guess March will be coming in like a lion. We can look forward to it going out like a lamb!
In our efforts to keep warm this month, (as though we wouldn't be anyway, even if it were warm out) Carole and I have been busy knitting away on a couple Mystery Knit-a-longs.
Carole has been busy knitting Ysolda Teague's Follow Your Arrow 2 Shawl. The yarn she chose is Cheshire Cat Wonderland Yarn Series fingering weight yarn in the colorway "Off With Her Red". She bought a whole bunch of this yarn last year in several different colorways and we have both enjoyed knitting shawls with it already. It is 100% merino wool, the hanks are a generous 512 yards and it is very nice yarn to knit with. All the colors are beautiful and they have such cute names!
I've been knitting away on Kirsten Kapur's Mystery Sock 15, The yarn I am using is Cascade Heritage Solids in the colorway Como Blue. I've never used this yarn before and I'm finding I really like it for socks. It's soft and with 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon, they will be an easy to care for, sturdy pair of socks. I think I'll purchase more of this yarn in various colors to use for cuffs, heels, and toes of future socks.
Here is a quick sneak peek at our projects. We can't show you too much until after the Knit-a-longs are over!
(Look at Carole's cute little snuggle-pug!)
Thanks for stopping by today and please join us again soon. It's been a pleasure sharing our projects with you.
Warm wishes, Lea & Carole
